Two fire appliances rushed to Stable Lane in Polbeth, West Lothian, on Thursday night, December 13, after the alarm was raised shortly before 11pm.

An image from the scene shows huge orange flames coming from the vehicle and blue flashing lights in the distance as eight firefighters tackled the inferno, reports Edinburgh Live.

It is understood the incident happened near the village bowling club as the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the blaze shortly afterwards, with no injuries reported.

A SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.56pm on Thursday, 12 December, to reports of a car on fire on Stable Lane, Polbeth, West Lothian.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances, and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting one car.
