A man is in hospital after being struck by a bus in Edinburgh.

Emergency services were called to West Maitland Street at 1.45pm on Saturday. A 34-year-old pedestrian was found injured and taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Hospital for treatment.

Images from the scene show the area cordoned off with several police vehicles surrounding a single-decker bus, reports Edinburgh Live.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.

The incident took place hours before a double-decker bus crashed into a railway line in Glasgow.
