Hundreds of Celtic and Rangers fans have been captured clashing in Glasgow city centre ahead of the Scottish League Cup final at Hampden park.

Officers from Police Scotland were seen on Argyle Street attempting to separate both sets of supporters before the kick-off at the national stadium at 3.30pm.

Christmas shoppers could be seen hiding in nearby shops as the chaos developed on the streets of the city centre.

In the clip football fans can be seen running down the busy shopping street wearing Santa hats and setting off flares, as Police attempt to de-escalate the situation.

Following the disturbance on Argyle Street a large group of Rangers fans can be seen being escorted up Union Street then near Central Station in order to be put on trains for Mount Florida.

Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
