Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly considered ditching their life in the US after it was announced that Donald Trump clinched the most recent presidency.
Discussing Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s recent relocation to the UK, an insider shared with InTouch that the departure of the couple’s close friends was “pretty upsetting” for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
According to the New York Post, the pair had become tight-knit with the Sussexes following their move to Montecito after stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
“Ellen and Portia have been absolute rocks for Meghan and Harry from the moment they moved to California,” the source divulged to Intouch.
The insider continued, explaining how the couple had been instrumental in helping Meghan and Harry settle into Montecito life and introducing them to a network of influential figures, making them integral to the royals‘ social circle.
The source also mentioned that Harry and the former Suits star “totally understand why they’re leaving; they’ve toyed with the idea themselves since the election,” alluding to Trump’s victory over Vice President Kamala Harris.
