Prince Harry’s memoir Spare has suffered another setback ahead of the festive season, as it’s been revealed to be the most-traded in autobiography for the second year running.

Despite initially breaking records as the fastest-selling book upon its release in early 2023, with its explosive revelations about the Royal Family, it appears readers are eager to offload their copies.

According to the website We Buy Books, Spare topped their list again in 2024, with an even higher number of people trading it in compared to the previous year, OK! reports.

A spokesperson from the site stated: “For the second year running, Prince Harry’s Spare is the most traded-in biography of 2024. This year, we purchased a total of 567 copies.”

Those looking to trade in their copy of Spare can currently receive £3.77 from the site, while Waterstones sells it for £8.99.

The Duke of Sussex’s bombshell book was first released in January 2023, causing a global stir with claims including Prince William labelling Meghan Markle ‘difficult’, ‘rude’, and ‘abrasive’, allegations of King Charles’ jealousy towards the younger royals, and the revelation that Charles barred Meghan from joining Harry in Scotland during the Queen’s final days.

In October, a new paperback version of the book was released, but intriguingly, it lacked any new information or updated chapters, which is usually anticipated.

There had been speculation that Harry might disclose more startling details in an updated edition of Spare, given the significant events that have occurred since its first publication in early 2023, according to the Mirror.

Since then, both King Charles and Kate Middleton have been diagnosed with cancer, while Harry’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have received prince and princess titles.

The paperback edition was launched on October 22 in the United States and two days later in the UK. However, since the release of Spare, the relationship between Harry and his father and older brother seems to have worsened.

As for Harry and William, their feud, which was already brewing before the book’s release, appears to have grown chillier. It’s thought that the brothers last spoke at their late grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022.

Furthermore, Harry surprised many by not taking part in any promotional activities for the paperback edition of the book, despite a major publicity tour when it was first published.
