What is your favourite part of Christmas Day? While some enjoy opening presents, others get excited for gathering the family around to play games.
But one thing’s for certain – festive food plays a huge part in the tradition here in the UK. Whether you decide on a turkey dinner, gammon or massive cheeseboard, you’re bound to end the day feeling full.
And if you’re looking for a way to impress your loved ones this year, we have just the recipe. Recipe developer Kristel, who makes “simple snacks with a twist”, posted a Christmas hummus wreath recipe online.
It’s absolutely gorgeous to look at – and people reckon it tastes delicious too. So here’s everything you need to know about the viral treat that takes around 10 minutes to make.
Kristel, who lives in Nice, France, demonstrated the dish for her 569,000 Instagram followers. She said: “Snack like Santa with this delicious hummus appetiser. I’m loving this Christmassy twist with tomato ornaments and a cucumber ribbon…tasty and festive.”
People gushed about the recipe, with one remarking: “This is such a beautiful idea.” Another said: “Wow! This is beautiful hummus. Looks so delicious.” And a third added: “I am stealing this idea.”
To whip up the recipe yourself, you’ll need 500 grams of hummus, a small bunch of finely chopped parsley, some cherry tomatoes, crumbled feta cheese, and a cucumber.
Method
- Fill a small bowl with hummus and put it in the centre of a serving plate
-
Top the hummus with chopped parsley, cherry tomatoes and feta to give it that festive green-and-red look
-
Create cucumber strips with a vegetable peeler and place them on top of the hummus so they look like ribbon
-
Serve with crackers or toasted bread. Enjoy!
