A mum and her baby have been hit by a car – sparking a huge emergency response. Horrified eyewitnesses have told the Mirror about a devastating crash in Bootle, Liverpool this afternoon.
Several ambulances and fire crews have been scrambled to the scene. One man told the Mirror he had been on his lunch break when he heard a huge crash shortly after 1pm today.
He said: “The mum and her baby have literally been tossed through the air onto a grass verge at the side of the road. The mum was screaming about her baby, she was as white as a sheet and the pram is on its side. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

The busy area has several shops including a Lidl, where paramedics are said to be dealing with one of the patients in the car park. Bus company Arriva said it had diverted a number of services in response to the ‘serious incident’.
The Mirror has contacted Merseyside Police for a comment. A fire truck, several police cars and ambulances have all been scrambled to the scene. More than a dozen officers have been pictured surrounding the car and pram.
