During a traffic stop, police said they discovered several catalytic converters as well as tools used to steal them.

ROUND ROCK, Texas — A man has been arrested after police discovered several catalytic converters and the tools used to steal them during a traffic stop in Round Rock on Monday.

According to the Round Rock Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop around 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 16 near the 600 block of McNeil Road.

During the stop, officers discovered several catalytic converters, the tools commonly used to steal them and narcotics.

Christopher Smith, 32, of Austin, was taken into custody and booked into the Williamson County Jail. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance, unauthorized possession of a catalytic converter and unlawful use of a criminal instrument.
