A Loganair flight to Edinburgh declared a midair emergency while preparing to land in the capital on Tuesday evening. Flight LM328 issued a squawk 7700 code—signalling a general emergency—during its descent into Edinburgh after departing from Southampton.
For a brief period, the flight also disappeared from the tracking website FlightRadar24. Despite the alert, the airport’s arrivals page confirmed that the flight landed safely at 9:10 pm on December 17, reports Edinburgh Live.
The domestic flight had departed Southampton shortly after 8pm before signalling the emergency near Carlisle. This incident follows a similar event in November, when another Loganair flight from Southampton was forced to divert due to a midair emergency.
That flight landed in Birmingham, with the airline later citing a “technical issue” as the cause. Passengers were transported to their intended destination shortly afterward.
A Loganair spokesperson said: “ Loganair can confirm that flight LM328 reported a technical issue on Tuesday evening. The aircraft landed safely and passengers disembarked normally.
“The safety and well-being of our passengers and crew is always our highest priority. We thank our customers for their understanding and ground crews for their quick response.”
