A man has been found dead at a home in North Lanarkshire.
Emergency services were called to Watson Street in Motherwell following reports of a ‘concern for a person’ at around 8.10am on Monday. Officers from Police Scotland attended and the body of a 55-year-old man was found within. His next of kin have been made aware.
A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault. He has since been released pending further enquiries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 8.10am on Monday, December 16, to a report of a concern for person in the Watson Street area of Motherwell.
“Emergency services attended and the body of a 55-year-old man was found within. His next of kin are aware. A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault and released pending further enquiries.”
