A mum’s toe-curling encounter with a delivery driver was captured by a Ring doorbell – and it’s left many in stitches.
The household camera recorded the conversation Georgia Bennett-Smith’s mother had with the postie outside their Stoke-on-Trent home on Sunday, December 15.
Georgia says her mum had been drinking wine before the food arrived, which might have contributed towards the three-word blunder that was caught on camera.
The man dropped off their grub before she said: “Ah thank you, have a lovely Christmas.” The delivery driver then replied: “Yeah. Thank you.” But Georgia added: “Love you, ahh.”
Not content to leave it there, she followed everything up with a kiss on the cheek. The delivery man replied: “Merry Christmas.” And the mum added: “Happy New Year. See you soon, bye bye.”
Recalling the amusing moment, Georgia added: “When mum’s had a couple of wines and tells the delivery drivers loves him.”
The clip has since stirred debate online. While some think it’s lovely to see someone spreading festive cheer, others thought the moment was beyond cringe-worthy.
Carleen White said: “Why not spread love not hate.” Kacey added: “That’s actually so sweet though.” Tami joked: “And from here on…mum never drinks again.”
Another quipped: “I’d never order food again. This moment would haunt my brain.” Rae admitted: “I said ‘night night’ to the delivery driver the other day. Mortified.”
This story comes after startled mum who was woken by her video doorbell’s alert at 4am was left in stitches after reviewing the footage. Kellie Evans was fast asleep at her family home in Bridgend, South Wales, when the unexpected motion-triggered notification came through on her phone, jolting her awake. But the video gave her a right giggle.
