We are onto the last stretch before Christmas, which means it’s time to be making sure that you have in everything you need for the big day.

If you still need to get in your dinner, with all the trimmings included, you might be on the hunt for deals to keep costs low. Fortunately, Lidl has come to the rescue with new price cuts that gets a full feast for under £2 per person.

The German supermarket chain has said it is now offering “one of the cheapest Christmas dinners on the market”, after it slashed the cost of staples such as gravy, stuffing and Yorkshire puddings from Tuesday, December 17.

That’s not all, as the discounter is set to reduce prices even further, with a selection of fresh vegetables being slashed to just 9p from tomorrow (December 19). On the same day, a Birchwood small turkey (3kg) will be cut to just £8.85, £2.95 per kg.

At this time of year, many supermarkets reduce the cost of Christmas veg down to just 15p to help shoppers save some pennies. However, Lidl, alongside Aldi, will be offering them at just 9p, making them the best value on the market so far.

This means that, from tomorrow, Lidl’s Christmas dinner will feed a family of six for just £11, working out at just £1.83 per person. That’s on par with rival Aldi that is said to come to £10.80, working out at £1.80 per person.

Even better, unlike a few other supermarket deals, Lidl’s Christmas dinner price cuts will be available to all customers, with no requirement for a loyalty card to receive the discounts.
