A man has been rushed to hospital following a shooting incident this morning. Emergency services raced to Woodbank in Finglas, Dublin, after the alarm was raised at around 10.30am on Wednesday.
Ambulance crews attended and a man, in his 40s, was rushed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown for treatment. Gardai said a firearm was discharged in the incident.
It’s understood the man’s injuries are not life threatening. Investigations into the incident are ongoing. Gardai are now appealing for witnesses who may have been present to come forward.
A Garda spokesperson told Dublin Live: “Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward. Any road users or pedestrians who were in the Woodbank area of Finglas, Dublin 11, between 9am and 10.30am this morning, Wednesday 18th December 2024, and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Finglas Garda Station on (01) 666 7500, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
