ROUND ROCK, Texas — A Pflugerville man is facing a murder charge for allegedly dealing someone fentanyl.
On July 22, Round Rock police found a person dead in a neighborhood on Lord Byron Circle.
They later discovered 31-year-old Pflugerville man Caleb Toledo had communicated with the victim and allegedly gave them fentanyl and Xanax a day before the victim’s death.
On Wednesday, authorities announced they arrested Toledo at a hotel in the 2500 block of Dell Way in Round Rock. They say he attempted to flee on foot and was arrested by the U.S. Marshals-led Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.
Toledo is now in the Williamson County Jail facing a murder charge.
Under a new Texas law, accused drug dealers can be charged with murder if they sell someone fentanyl and it kills them. Dozens have been charged under this law since it took effect in September of 2023.
