SAN ANTONIO — Brad Simpson was in court Thursday for the second time this month. He’s the Olmos Park man accused of killing his wife Suzanne and then hiding her body.
He appeared before a judge, who set conditions on Brad’s contact with his children. He was previously ordered to have no contact with his minor children, a 5-year-old and a 15-year-old.
The prosecution recommended, in an agreement with the defense, to continue not having contact with the younger child, but agreed to a condition allowing contact via letters only with his teenage son. The letters would be supervised by CPS. Additionally, the prosecution recommended his two adult children be allowed to choose whether to have contact with Simpson.
Brad and his attorneys agreed to these conditions and the judge ruled in favor of them.
Also on Thursday, the judge reminded a family member of a gag ordered issued last week that prevents friends and family from speaking to the media about the case. The family member recently appeared on a local podcast to discuss Suzanne Simpson’s disappearance.
This comes about a week and half after he was indicted on several charges including murder in the death of his wife Suzanne.
He appeared in a packed courtroom before returning to jail, where he is currently being held on a $3 million bond.
This week, we learned his longtime business associate James Cotter was indicted on allegations he helped Brad hide evidence. Police arrested Cotter in October who has since been released but remains on house arrest, according to court records.
As for Suzanne, her remains have not been found so far.
She was last seen alive in October, just hours before she was reported missing.
