Daniel Duran, 29, has been charged with stalking and resisting arrest.

KYLE, Texas — Kyle police say a man followed a 13-year-old girl around a convenience store, then chased after her as she attempted to run home.

Police said video footage showed Daniel Duran, 29, following the victim through the aisles of the store before going outside to wait for her. The footage then reportedly showed Duran chasing the victim as she left the store and attempted to run home.

At approximately 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, police received a report of the incident from the victim’s mother. Officers quickly located Duran and arrested him. He is currently being held in the Hays County Jail on charges of stalking and resisting arrest.

“Child safety is our top priority,” Dr. Jeff Barnett, Kyle’s police chief, said. “We encourage all parents and guardians to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. Together, we will keep the children of our community safe.”
