FORT WORTH, Texas — Terry Black’s, the popular barbecue restaurant with a location in Dallas’ Deep Ellum neighborhood, is expanding its North Texas presence soon.
It looks like the new Terry Black’s location on West 7th Street in Fort Worth will open Thursday, Dec. 19.
Terry Black’s posted a few photos of the new restaurant on social media Monday, saying, “Smoke signal… Terry Black’s Fort Worth… 12/19.”
We’ll take that as confirmation of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s previous report that the restaurant was eyeing a Dec. 19 opening date. Terry Black’s replaces the former Wendy’s location along Fort Worth’s busy stretch of West 7th, near the In-n-Out Burger.
Terry Black’s, a longtime staple of the Central Texas barbecue scene, expanded to North Texas with the Deep Ellum opening in 2020. Run by Terry Black’s son, Mark Black, here in North Texas, the Black family’s barbecue heritage goes back to Lockhart.
The Fort Worth location is a 6,400-square-foot restaurant, costing $6 million, according to the Star-Telegram.
