Investigators say Ramon Figueroa, Jr., 22, targeted dozens of minors ages 12 to 16. He used Snapchat to lure his victims by lying about his age.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — A Conroe man who used social media to prey on minors as young as 12 is going to prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child and online solicitation of a minor.

A judge handed Ramon Figueroa Jr., 22, the maximum sentence for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.  He was sentenced to life in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child plus 20 years for online solicitation of a minor.

The Conroe Police Department launched an extensive investigation into Figueroa in 2022 after finding another 12-year-old victim at his home. She had been reported as a runaway and a detective tracked her to his home through cell phone records. A DNA test confirmed she’d been sexually assaulted.

After getting a search warrant for Figueroa’s Snapchat Account, Detective Caitlin Adams discovered that he’d preyed on dozens of minors ages 12 to 16. He would try to lure them by lying about his age and methodically gaining their trust before escalating to sexually explicit comments and requests to meet.

Adams identified another Montgomery County victim, a 12-year-old girl with special needs, who was beaten and sexually assaulted. The child’s father testified at sentencing about the severe emotional and physical trauma this child suffered at the hands of the defendant.

Adams sorted through thousands of messages and multimedia files, creating a timeline of expansive criminal behavior.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force used her investigation to build a comprehensive case highlighting the predatory nature of Figueroa’s actions.
