(CNN) – Starbucks workers in some U.S. cities are set to go on strike Friday.
The union representing thousands of Starbucks baristas, Starbucks united, posted on social media the strikes will happen in Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle.
More cities will join through Christmas Eve.
The union said Starbucks has failed to meet its demand for immediate and future pay raises.
The union representing Starbucks workers has struck the company several times in the past.
Many of the stores on strike remained open because management replaced the unionized striking workers with managers and employees from nearby non-union stores.
