The last week has been dominated by the fallout from Sunday’s controversial Premier Sports Cup Final defeat to Celtic.

But Philippe Clement’s side must now build on their promising display and put together a string of results in the Premiership. Rangers were left reeling after being denied a clear penalty kick at Hampden as Celts reclaimed their trophy in a dramatic shootout after a 3-3 thriller. Losing any final to your bitter rivals is always a sore one to take, but this one especially hurt the Ibrox faithful as the Hoops edged one trophy in front as the most successful team in Scotland.

Gers can’t afford to feel sorry for themselves, though, as they look to somehow drag themselves back into the title fight. Aberdeen are one point ahead in second place but the Light Blues have a game in hand that could see them overtake the Dons. And after the weekend’s Old Firm classic, there’s another derby just around the corner as Glasgow’s big two lock horns in Govan on January 2.

That’s already been billed as a ‘must-win’ for Rangers and Clement will demand his side build momentum ahead of the epic showdown. Dundee are the visitors on Saturday and Tony Docherty’s men have ambitions of their own to finish in the top six. The Dees would love to emulate city neighbours Dundee United by nicking a point at Ibrox, giving their fans an early Christmas present.
