A major Scots motorway has been closed after a four-vehicle crash.

Police were alerted to the incident on the M74 at the Cambuslang Road Interchange tonight, Sunday, December 22, at around 6pm.

No information is available on any casualties at this stage, but road users are asked to avoid the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The M74 is closed at junction 2 southbound due to a four-vehicle crash reported at around 6pm. Please avoid the area.”

A Traffic Scotland spokesperson said: “Incident on the M74. Junction 2 is closed. Southbound and junction 2a is closed northbound due to an ongoing road traffic incident.

“Please use an alternative route and allow extra travel time.”
