As we inch closer to Christmas, many of us will have noticed that many supermarkets have switched up their opening hours.

It’s a well-known fact that many of them close their doors early on December 24, with the majority remaining closed on the big day itself. However, what about opening hours for Boxing Day?

The day after Christmas is often a time when many of us find we need to run to the shops for essentials such as milk, bread and other staples. With December 26 being classed as a bank holiday, that means popping to the shops might not be so simple.

Since 2020, some supermarkets have opted to keep their doors closed on the day after Christmas, allowing employees the opportunity to spend more time with loved ones. Although, there are a few that remain open, but not at normal times.

To ensure you don’t get left without any post-Christmas essentials, here is a handy guide on all the supermarket opening hours across Scotland this Boxing Day. Remember, it’s always worth double checking your own store before you head, as they may differ.
