Rosalind Eleazar, widely recognised for her role as Louisa Guy in Slow Horses, is set to headline a stellar ensemble in Netflix’s upcoming potential smash hit, Missing You.
The fresh Harlan Coben thriller, Missing You, scheduled to premiere on New Year’s Day, features Eleazar stepping into the shoes of the lead character, Detective Kat Donovan.
Admirers of Slow Horses will recall her portrayal of the British MI5 agent who ends up at Slough House following a botched surveillance operation.
In her latest venture with Netflix, Eleazar takes on a starkly contrasting persona, showcasing her versatile acting prowess.
In conversation with Reach and other media outlets, she discussed how her new role in Missing You stands apart from her performance in the Apple TV+ series, reports the Mirror.
When questioned about her anticipation for Slow Horses enthusiasts to see her in a distinctly different role, she expressed: “Yeah, I am. They are such different shows, and I really do hope that the Slow Horses fans will watch this show.
“I think they will. And both Slow Horses and Missing You have come from brilliant source material.
“You know, these books are really good, and a lot of people who came to Slow Horses [found it] because they already loved the books, and it’s the same with Harlan Coben. So, yeah, I’m excited,” Eleazar elaborated.
The summary for Missing You states: “Missing You is a limited drama series about Detective Kat Donovan (Rosalind Eleazar), whose life is rocked when her fiancé Josh (Ashley Walters), who disappeared eleven years ago, suddenly resurfaces in strange circumstances.
“While Kat investigates the case of a missing person, Josh’s reappearance forces her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s (Sir Lenny Henry) murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.”
The description goes on to say: “Missing You sends Kat on a personal journey as she turns her policing brilliance inwards, unravelling her own life and those around her.
“Despite the big twists and shocking turns, Kat’s journey is one of emotional grounding as the viewer follows a fearless and intelligent Detective as she is forced to confront one of the most traumatic and vulnerable moments in her life.”
Missing You is available to stream on Netflix from January 1.
