Kilmarnock defender Joe Wright believes the club’s reaction to their trouncing at Ibrox earlier this months proves they’re made of the right stuff.
Killie were swept aside 6-0 by Rangers at the start of December with an injured Wright being taken off at half-
time.
They’ll be looking to make it four games unbeaten since that defeat when they welcome Aberdeen to Rugby Park on Boxing Day.
An injury-time leveller against Dundee United was followed by victory over Hearts despite being down to 10 men after just six minutes. And they made it three unbeaten with another come-from-behind away point at Motherwell on Friday.
The centre-back insists that shows the character within the changing room as they eye up a top six challenge.
The busy festive schedule also sees them travel to Edinburgh to take on Hibs on December 29.
Wright, who is closing in on 100 appearances for the club, said: “We’ve shown good resolve since Ibrox. There’s teams that can go under after a result like that.
“Probably the scoreline affects confidence but there was a good talk after the game, although I wasn’t there myself.
“Some things were said and I think the character shown in the last three games shows what we’ve got in the dressing room. Ever since I’ve come here, it’s always been a good dressing room.
“We’re a social group, we socialise outside football. We enjoy our time in the building, we give our all in training and on a match day.”
He added: “Positive results help morale, there’s nothing better than winning football games.
“When it’s one like the Hearts game, and one team has the advantage for so long they are going to be really scrutinised and maybe the team that played well and got the result maybe miss out on a bit of the spotlight.”
