Morrisons has faced significant technical glitches today, leading to Christmas orders being cancelled and customers missing out on expected discounts.

The supermarket identified problems, particularly with its More Card loyalty programme and click-and-collect service, which left some shoppers paying more at checkouts—case in point, one customer vented on social media about being charged 69p for carrots instead of the anticipated 10p, reports the Mirror.

Addressing the issue, a Morrisons spokesperson stated: “If More Card prices are not registering, we will apply a 10% discount to the customer’s entire shop.”

Additionally, the company warned that home deliveries might be delayed and advised click and collect users to await email confirmation before heading to the store. Adding to the chaos, the supermarket’s website experienced a complete outage earlier, displaying a “502 Bad Gateway” error to visitors.

Downdetector statistics further revealed over 300 instances reported regarding issues with Morrisons’ Morecard.

Morrisons has yet to respond to The Mirror’s request for comments.
