NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CNN) – One lottery player’s holiday season just got a whole lot brighter to the tune of $1.1 billion.
A single Mega Millions ticket purchased in New Jersey back in March matched all six numbers, and the lucky player who was holding it all this time has finally stepped forward.
The player has chosen to remain anonymous and will take home more than $575 million before taxes.
This comes ahead of a Mega Millions jackpot that could give another lucky winner a Christmas miracle.
The drawing for that jackpot, worth an estimated $970 million, happens on Christmas Eve.
