It’s important to ensure your dog receives the care and attention they need.

Since your furry friend can’t communicate with you, it can sometimes be hard knowing what they actually want. But one vet, who has more than 24 years experience, recently shared a list of advice for those with pets.

The woman claimed many people don’t listen to her about certain things as she listed six things to be mindful of in an Instagram post on @furry.wellness6 account, which boasts 418,000 followers.

“24 years as a veterinarian and yet no one listens to me when I tell them these important things,” the video began. The vet emphasised the importance of a “raw diet” for dogs, which contains “20 times more nutrients than kibble”.

Kibble is a type of dry dog food made from ground ingredients that are mixed, shaped into pellets, and cooked, often including meat, grains, vegetables, legumes, and fruits, also known as dog biscuits in the UK.

Additionally, the vet recommended chamomile tea which can calm nerves and reduce anxiety in dogs, it also has numerous health benefits, including improved sleep quality and digestion.

Meanwhile, the video suggested pumpkin puree could help alleviate a dog’s upset stomach, stating: “It works wonders for relieving diarrhoea or constipation.” And, incorporating plain yoghurt into a dog’s meals may improve gut health as well as reduce gas.

Bone broth was also recommended as a means to enhance digestion and promote joint health, being rich in nutrients and easy to prepare using ingredients like chicken feet, necks, legs, and wings.

Lastly, liquid collagen was suggested as a solution to reduce shedding and alleviate joint pain, with the veterinarian advising to search for “Collagen for dogs” on Amazon.

The advice garnered significant attention on Instagram, with one commenter stating: “Raw diet saved my dog’s life. Kibbles are the junkiest of all the junk food.”

Another added: “You’re right! But most people don’t want to be bothered with the raw food and such. It’s easier to buy dried one. Generation of packed and already made food. And this is not about pets it’s also about good for kids and adults.”
