Aberdeen have reportedly made a move for Kristers Tobers at Grasshopers.
Jimmy Thelin enjoyed a busy summer window after taking over the top job in the Granite City and he is likely to follow that up with another month of wheeling and dealing as he bids to recapture the early season he enjoyed after a current winless run of six games.
The Pittodrie outfit have money in the bank after selling star man Bojan Miovski to La Liga and Champions League outfit Girona in the summer. And Not the Old Firm claim they’ve made a move to bring the 24-year-old on board. He would offer versatility as he can play at the heart of the defense or as a defensive midfielder and is also the national team captain for Latvia. Tobers brings a wealth of experience with 37 caps for his country. This season so far he has played 12 games in all competitions and found the net once.
The versatile target is unlikely to be the only addition next month with Aberdeen determined to get back to winning ways. Rangers leapfrogged them at the weekend after their defeat to Hibs and the Light Blues win over Dundee.
One point stands between the duo with Philippe Clement’s men having played a game less ahead of the Boxing Day games.
