OCEANA, W.Va. -The night sky is lit up in Wyoming County this holiday season as residents in Oceana’s Hatcher’s Landing neighborhood put on the ritz in Christmas decorations.
Elaborate displays have been bringing in many visitors every night and on Monday night the Oceana Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored a Christmas Village Mixer in the community.
Devonna West, spokesperson for the chamber, said the community event is the highlight of chamber activities during the year.
“We love the neighbors, we love the excitement here,” she said. “They put so much detail in the decorations. It is like driving through a park with all the lights. What a way to end the year with an awesome community event.”
West said the displays, the annual parade and festivities have a positive impact on everyone and shows how the goal of “we are better together” can be achieved, with residents, the town, businesses and the chamber all working hand-in-hand.
West encourages everyone to visit Hatcher’s Landing and the displays will remain up until after New Year’s.
