Scottish football might not have the riches enjoyed by clubs south of the border, but nobody can deny it’s great entertainment.
As 2023 came to a close we saw Santa booed onto the park at Celtic Park and that really set the tone for another madcap year of entertainment – on and off the pitch. Whether it was the sight of Rangers boss Philippe Clement being forced to peer over a fence to watch his side play a closed door friendly, or Neil Warnock’s bizarre spell in charge of Aberdeen – we weren’t ever short of entertainment. And that was all in the opening months of the year.
Fast forward to the summer and we had Euro 2024 to enjoy as thousands of members of the Tartan Army headed off to Germany for the trip of a lifetime. There was plenty to celebrate as Scotland fans, full of hope, enjoyed everything Germany had to offer. Right up until the football kicked off. At least our second team, Spain, got the job done in the end…
Back on domestic duties there was a managerial casualty on day one of the season, a dog defeating a bunch of children to become a mascot and the emergence of a new hero for the national side in the shape of Ben Doak. It’s certainly not been dull.
But how good is your knowledge on the events of 2024? See how much you can remember from another manic 12 months in the national game.
