A loch-side lodge in the Scottish Highlands that has been described as “truly stunning” can currently be booked at a major discount.

Loch Rannoch Highland Club is a holiday complex situated in the scenic village of Kinloch Rannoch on the eastern edge of Loch Rannoch in Highland Perthshire. Featuring more than 80 cabins with peaceful loch views, it is a popular destination for romantic getaways and family holidays alike.

At the moment, a one, two, or three night stay at Loch Rannoch Highland Club for two, four, or six people can be booked for as little as £99 through voucher website Wowcher. With the standard price starting from £180.55, this marks a discount of 45 per cent.

Visitors can choose from either an apartment or lodge, both of which are equipped with a modern kitchen, dining, and lounge area. Some lodges feature a sauna, while there is also the option to bring your dog along with you for a “small fee”.

Meanwhile, included in the Wowcher deal is a bottle of Prosecco on arrival. Visitors can also enjoy a late 12pm checkout on their final day.

Among the nearby beauty spots is the Black Wood of Rannoch, a site of Special Scientific Interest renowned for its magnificent pine forest. Meanwhile, Kinloch Rannoch is home to a café, a gallery, and more.

The Loch Rannoch Highland Club has received mostly very positive reviews from visitors. On travel website Tripadvisor, it has an average rating of 4.5 out of five based on 339 reviews.

One recent guest wrote: “This is truly a stunning place to stay. As previous reviewers have said, the views of the loch are so relaxing.”

A second Tripadvisor user shared: “This is a lovely place to stay, very peaceful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our shower broke half way through our stay and it was fixed pronto along with a bottle of Prosecco as a little gesture.

“The complex over looks the loch and Schiehallion mountain. Spectacular!”

However, a less positive review reads: “We stayed in a studio with lake view. The views are amazing but I’m guessing that is the prime factor behind the pricing.

“The room is pretty spacious with plenty of furniture and it has a sort of sun room attached. The bed was a pull down type but was terribly uncomfortable and made a noise with the slightest of movement which led to a pretty poor sleep.

“The kitchen is well equipped and stocked with plenty of accessories such as toaster, coffee maker etc. However some of the decor inside and out is desperately in need of a refresh.”

If Loch Rannoch Highland Club does not appeal to you, there are numerous other accommodation options in the area. Among the highlights are the four-star Loch Rannoch Hotel, Estate and Spa resort and the five-star Dunalastair Hotel Suites.
