The devastated family of a Scots dad killed in a horror crash with a parked car have paid tribute to their “son, husband, father, brother, uncle and nephew”.
Scott McFadden died after a Volkswagen Golf struck a parked Peugeot on Clune Brae in Port Glasgow at 9.55pm on Monday, December 16. Emergency services raced to the incident but Scott, 38, who was the passenger in the Golf, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 50-year-old woman was arrested in connection and later released pending further enquiries. Following the tragedy, Scott’s devastated loved ones have organised a GoFundMe page in his memory.
As reported in Glasgow Live, organiser Fiona McFadden wrote: “It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we have to share the unexpected passing of Scott Mcfadden on Monday, December 16th, 2024. Scott was a son, husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many.
“With all of the emotional pain and stress that death brings, it can also bring financial burdens. We would like to raise money for Scott to help with any funeral expenses.
“It is in times of sadness and loss when people can come together to help one another make it through. Any support you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Please keep Scott, his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.”
Sergeant Robert Mackie, of the Road Policing Unit in Dumbarton, said: “Our thoughts are with Scott McFadden’s family and friends at this difficult time. Our enquiries into the full circumstances of this collision are ongoing.
“I would urge anyone who may have information who has not yet spoken to police to contact 101, quoting reference number 3838 of 16 December.”
The page has so far raised over £2,000 of its £3.5k target. Find out more or donate to Scott’s fundraising page here.
