OAK HILL, W.Va. – West Virginia American Water announced they are investing $255,000 to upgrade old pipes in Oak Hill.

According to a press release, The infrastructure project will take place on 2nd Street in Oak Hill and will replace 780 feet of aging pipe with 6-inch PVC main. Work is taking place on 2nd Street from Highlawn Park to the 2nd Avenue intersection.

American Water said the upgrades will improve service reliability, and reduce disruptions to the water service.

Traffic restrictions will be in place as crews from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The project is estimated to be done at the end of February, and the last fixes to the street should be in the spring of 2025, American Water said. During construction, customers may experience temporary service interruptions, discolored water, and/or lower than normal water pressure.
