A body has been discovered during searches for a missing woman from Edinburgh.
The discovery was made near the water to Newbridge at 11.55am on Friday, December 27. Formal identification has still to take place, however, the family of Santra Saju, 22, has been informed.
A major search operation was launched by police for Santra after she was reported missing from the South Gyle area of the capital on Friday, December 6. Officers say her death is not believed to be suspicious.
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
A statement from Police Scotland reads: “Around 11.55am on Friday, 27 December, 2024, police were made aware of a body found in the water near to Newbridge. Formal identification has still to take place however the family of Santra Saju, 22, has been informed.
“The death is not believed to be suspicious. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
