PIPESTEM, W. Va. -Whether you’re a time traveler or just like to dress like one, the Pipestem Resort State Park has a way for you to ring in the new year.
While the park has held 1920s-themed New Year’s Eve parties before, a picture of Captain Kirk inspired them to combine the past and the future and everything in between. “The Time Travelers Ball” lets guests dress up in costumes from whatever time period they prefer for a night of music, food, and fun.
Dinner will be at 5:00pm, with the party itself starting at 8:00 pm and going into the new year. There will also be a “best dressed contest” for those ‘time travelers’ in attendance.
“…We’re inviting all of our folks to come and dress whatever era you feel best in. If you’re a 1920s person, come dressed in the ‘Roaring Twenties.’ If you’re a hippy chick, well… bring out those bell bottoms and come on down…” says Scott Hill, the activities coordinator for Pipestem Resort State Park.

The park will also be continuing their New Year’s Day tradition of holding hikes, with a more strenuous hike at 10:00 am and a more scenic hike at 1:00 pm.
