This Morning’s Dr Ranj Singh has shared that he was rushed to hospital after suffering a head injury over the weekend.
The ITV doctor took to Instagram to share a photo of himself with a bandage wrapped around his head, captioning it: “Not quite how I planned to spend my Saturday night.”
His post sparked concern among his followers, leading him to explain in a subsequent post: “Apologies, I should have explained. I slipped and face-planted the pavement. Earned myself five lovely stitches. All sorted though! Thank you for the messages of concern.”
Earlier this year, Dr Ranj announced an exciting career move, revealing that he would be making his musical theatre debut in ‘and Juliet’ as part of its upcoming UK and Ireland tour, the Mirror reports.
Announcing the news, he said: “I am absolutely overjoyed to be making my musical theatre debut in and Juliet, a show I’ve been a fan of since it first opened.
“I know it’s a bit of a change from my usual work but not many people will know how hard I’ve been working behind the scenes to make this happen and it’s an absolute dream come true. I can’t wait to work with the incredible Luke Sheppard [Director] and the entire creative team and have the time of my life this year, showing the UK what I’m made of alongside an exceptionally talented and diverse cast. Bring it on.”

He later confessed his newfound love for musical theatre in a conversation with RSVP: “Alongside the rehearsal process which was in London for five weeks, I was getting extra acting coaching on the side and I was getting extra vocal coaching on the side.
“I was like, ‘right, I’ve got to catch up with my peers who’re in the show and the rest of the cast – and I have to make sure that I’m doing a good job; I want to do the best job that I could do’. It was a massive learning experience for me.”
Dr Ranj, who shares the stage with Matt Cardle, Laura Denning and Sandra Marvin, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity. He enthused: “I’d love to do more. It doesn’t necessarily mean that it’d be a similar show – I’d like to explore different kinds of shows and maybe do a play.”
