Yin Lu was the first contestant to be ousted from the latest series of Traitors after a tense vote led to her early elimination. Post-exit, she appeared on BBC Breakfast to spill the beans on the behind-the-scenes drama.

The television personality opened up about being “kicked out” and this season’s shocking twist, which forced her and two other contestants to choose who would exit the show within ten minutes risking a substantial decrease in prize money as time ticked away.

When probed by host Charlie about the reason she thinks she was first to leave, Yin confessed: “I think I am terrible at analysing myself because I am very biased. I must have projected more confidence and more. I think people have called me smart but I don’t believe that myself but I must have come across as intelligent and very observant more than I would have liked to have come across if that makes sense.”

Co-host Naga suggested her own theory for Yin’s short-lived journey on the show, commenting: “Do you know I think one of your mistakes was telling them you were a doctor of communication.”

Yin swiftly corrected her: “I didn’t though,” leading Naga to respond with surprise, “I thought they knew.”, reports the Express.

Yin clarified the misunderstanding: “No, I only told those in the confessional that’s where it came out behind the scenes.”

Naga, surprised that the other contestants were unaware of Yin’s profession, asked: “What did you tell them then? The traitors star replied: ” To which the star of Traitors responded: “I didn’t mention anything about my qualification or where I worked.”

Meanwhile, on X – previously known as Twitter, viewers had a lot to say about the interview and were particularly upset that the BBC had chosen to reveal several spoilers before they had the opportunity to watch.

Naga and Charlie had given fans a heads up that they were about to disclose a significant spoiler as Yin appeared on BBC screens. However, many online users were not pleased with this and expressed their dissatisfaction in similar complaints.

One individual posted:”#bbcbreakfast Even with a spoiler alert they have the person from #Traitors on the couch therefore you need to change channel. Mental! ! ! “.

Another echoed: “BBCBreakfast What’s the point of having her on, if it’s only to tell everyone she was eliminated? Isn’t that a spoiler? Also she’s slightly annoying.”

A third agreed, expressing the same sentiment: “#BBCBreakfast they tell us who the traitors are on the show lol.. no guessing then.” A fourth sarcastically added: “Thanks for the spoiler alert and not ruining the show,” accompanied by an eye-rolling emoji.

Others found the interview rather “cringe”, suggesting Yin was “milking her five minutes of fame”. Additional comments included: “#BBCBreakfast This #traitors interview is pure cringe,” and “The whiff of desperation for fame was strong #traitorsuk #yin #bbcbreakfast.”

A third viewer wrote: “Jeez, that was an awkward encounter with #TheTraitors’contestant”. Like the visual equivalent of rubbing polystyrene,” while another commented: “She’s milking this for 5 mins of fame ffs #BBCBreakfast.”
