The usual price would be £240, so you can make a whopping £141 saving – that’s 59 per cent! If you want to upgrade to a sea view, it’s £119, which is 52 per cent off the usual £250 price.

If you’re looking for relaxation, you can make it a spa break and upgrade by adding a 25-minute deep tissue massage at Strathnaver Guest House. This would bring the cost up to £219 for the two nights, which is a saving of £179 (45%) from the usual £398 price.

Perfectly located to allow visitors to explore the historic town and its surroundings. The 18th Century Oban Distillery is one of the oldest in Scotland, while the impressive McCaig’s Tower gives incredible views out over the waters of Oban Bay.

Another added: “Lovely guesthouse near the centre of Oban. Very quiet in the property and surrounding area, with all the amenities you need for a stay. Excellent communication prior to, during and after the stay and an easy check in/check out process. Would highly recommend.”

However, one less positive review read: “Not Really a Guesthouse, but just rooms to let. The situation is good, not far to walk to the Esplanade. The room was pleasant enough, but it would have been good to see a friendly face.”

If you are looking to spend a night or two in Scotland’s ‘Town of the Year’ but are keen for a more traditional stay, there are plenty of other options in Oban. These include the four-star Oban Bay Hotel or The Great Western Hotel.
