Claudio Ranieri has embarked on his latest miracle attempt after taking the reins at struggling Roma.
The Italian took Leicester City to a legendary Premier League title in 2016 and drew adulation from the world over as the relegation favourites turned the football world on its head. But now Ranieri is charged with a more personal challenge – to revive Roma’s season. He came out of retirement in November to manage his hometown club for the third time after the club had already sacked TWO gaffers since the start of the season. Daniele De Rossi and Ivan Juric were kicked to the kerb as the Galliorossi loiter in 10th place, 15 points behind Lazio.
The Biancocelesti are looking down on their rivals with glee. Marco Baroni has propelled his charges into fourth place, just inside the Champions League spots despite a number of key players departing in the summer. Iconic striker Ciro Immobile left after eight years at the club bagging 169 goals in the process, while fan favourite Luis Alberto made the switch to the Middle East. Nevertheless Lazio have proved that a collective resolve can match individual talent.
Record Sport is here to take you through how to watch these bitter rivals come to blows in the Italian capital.
