Lorraine Kelly left her followers quite stirred as she hinted at “the end” in a touching post on social media, stating: “Thank you everyone.”

The much-adored TV presenter has been absent from our televisions in 2025, with Ranvir Singh filling in throughout the week to present the popular morning programme.

However, fear not, as Lorraine’s Instagram update, which featured an image that simply stated “THE END” thankfully did not spell the conclusion of her stint on ITV.

She revealed in her post: “The two best and happiest words for a writer to type. Book two completed!! Thanks to everyone who bought book one The Island Swimmer. The paperback version will be released soon.”

Enthusiastic fans immediately showered her with adoration, one elatedly commenting: “Yes, yes, yes! Can’t wait to read it.” Someone else remarked: “How marvellous. Can’t wait to read.”

Another quipped, “I’ve just finished The Island Swimmer. It was brilliant, I couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait for book two,” mirroring the sentiments of others. Additionally, a fourth follower expressed anticipation: “Loved your first book well done, can’t wait.”

The narrative in Lorraine’s novel, The Island Swimmer, revolves around the protagonist Evie who goes back to her native Orkney after finding out her father is gravely sick, reports the Express.

Striving to mend the rift between her and her distant sister, Evie gets the family home ready for sale while becoming intrigued by a local cold-water swimming group.

The book explores themes of community, the secrets concealed on an island and the errors of the past. It swiftly rose to become a Sunday Times bestseller and boasts an average rating of 3.95 on Goodreads.

Details regarding the plot and title of Lorraine’s second book are yet to be revealed.

Lorraine is available to watch weekdays on ITV from 9am.
