PRINCETON, W.Va. -Eric Robinson appeared for his preliminary hearing Thursday. He is accused of leading two separate police agencies on a high-speed chase through parts of Mercer County on December 22nd.
According to the criminal complaint Bluefield City Police tried to pull Robinson over on Cherry Street for a burned-out headlight.
That’s when he allegedly fled, leading officers on a high-speed pursuit reaching more than one-hundred-miles-per-hour onto route 460.
Officers eventually terminated the pursuit and shortly after West Virginia State Police engaged on a short pursuit. ending with Robinson and his passenger, Jorgia Nelson, both being arrested.
State Police added that a four-year-old child was in the back seat.
Robinson faces several felony charges including fleeing from an officer with reckless indifference, child neglect creating risk of injury or death, and being a prohibited person possessing a firearm.
Jorgia Nelson had her preliminary hearing back in December.
