LOS ANGELES (Gray News) – Writer and director Jeff Baena, who was married to Aubrey Plaza, has died at the age of 47, according to several reports.
Baena’s death was confirmed Saturday by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, according to Variety. They reported his body was discovered on Friday at a residence in Los Angeles.
No official cause of death has been shared at this time.
Baena started his career in 2004 when he co-wrote “I Heart Huckabees” with director David O. Russell, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He made his directorial debut in 2014 with “Life After Beth,” which starred Aubrey Plaza as the titular character.
He also wrote and directed “The Little Hours,” “Joshy” and “Horse Girl.”
Baena and Plaza met in 2011 and kept much of their relationship private, according to People. The two were married in 2020 but did not share the news until 2021.
