ST. LOUIS — What seemed like random act of kindness from a stranger took a dark turn Sunday in St. Louis’ Central West End.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, a 40-year-old man’s car got struck in the snow while he was trying to enter the parking garage at Parc Frontenac apartments at 40 Kingshighway Blvd. That’s when an unknown male in an SUV helped him free his car.
Once the man’s car was unstuck, he parked in the garage before the same person that helped him came up, pointed a gun at him and demanded his car keys, police said.
The man turned over his keys and left to call the police. When officers arrived, they found the man’s car was still parked in the garage, untaken.
Investigation into the armed robbery remained ongoing as of Monday.
Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call 314-44-0001 to speak with a detective. To remain anonymous and potentially receive a reward, contact CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
