Glasgow’s Four Corners has been taped off this morning following an early-hours street attack.
Officers from Police Scotland raced to the incident in the city centre after receiving reports of a possible serious assault on Jamaica Street at around 3am on Wednesday, January 8. Cops attended but there was no trace of anyone involved.
Inquiries into the matter are ongoing. The area has been cordoned off although businesses are still operating and access can be gained as standard. Road access to Midland Street at Jamaica Street remains open.
Anyone who happened to be in the area at the time of the incident is urged to come forward.
Sergeant David McIntosh said: “We’d like to thank the public for their patience and understanding as officers carry out their work in the area.
“Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious on Jamaica Street in the early hours of this morning, or has any information on the incident, should call police on 101, quoting incident 0291 of 8 January. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
