Meghan Markle has offered fans a glimpse into her private life with charming pictures and videos of her children, Archie and Lilibet, as she paid a heartfelt tribute to their late dog, Guy.
The Duchess of Sussex took to her newly minted Instagram account where she shared an emotional montage in memory of Guy, highlighting moments with her, Prince Harry, and their little ones.
Amidst the collection of memories, Archie, six, is seen walking the pooch on a sunlit stroll, while another tender photograph captures Meghan cradling three-year-old Lilibet amidst their slumbering pets on a picnic blanket reports the Mirror.
An adorable clip within the video catches a concerned Archie from inside a car, cautioning “He’s going to fall” about Guy, before Meghan gently assures them both of the dog’s safety.
Guy, a former kill shelter dog rescued just days from death, was adopted by the Suits star back in 2015 from a Canadian dog rescue. In her homage, Meghan recalls the origins of his name: “I swooped him up….and fell in love. They referred to him as ‘the little guy’ because he was so small and frail, so I named him ‘Guy’. And he was the best guy any girl could have asked for.
“If you followed me on Instagram back in the day, you saw a lot of him – and on The Tig too. He was with me at Suits, when I got engaged, (and then married), when I became a mom….he was with me for everything: the quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort. He endured a terrible accident shortly before I moved to the UK which had him undergoing surgeries for several months and unable to leave the clinic.”

She continued: “Doctors said he would never walk again, but Dr Noel Fitzpatrick said he could do it. H and I would drive late at night, after hours, to see Guy as he recovered in Surrey for months on end. I will always be grateful to Noel and his team, the team at Queen West Animal Hospital in TO, our vets now, and my friends and community: Thank you for loving him so.”
She went on to say: “Because many of you will now see Guy in this new series, I hope you’ll come to understand why I am so devastated by his loss. I think you may fall a little bit in love too. I have cried too many tears to count – the type of tears that make you get in the shower with the absurd hope that the running water on your face will somehow make you not feel them, or pretend they’re not there. But they are. And that’s okay too. Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life in ways you’ll never know.”
Prince Harry has previously spoken fondly about the resemblance his children bear to their relatives. He noted that Lilibet shares a striking likeness to his late mother, Princess Diana, with her Spencer genes evident in her features.
“I think at the moment I see a lot of my wife in Archie and a lot of my mum in Lilibet,” he mentioned in his Netflix series. He added that Lilibet has “the same blue eyes” as Diana and “sort of like a golden, red-ish hair”.
In a separate appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Harry reiterated the similarity, joking that the “ginger gene is a strong one” and “The Spencer gene is very, very strong”.
