It will remain cold into the middle of the month with Arctic air continuing to flow southwards.

The Met Office has warned that more snow will be falling across the nation this week, reports the Mirror. The Met Office has extended its initial 24-hour weather warning for the Highlands, Grampian, and Orkney and Shetland.

The warning has been extended until midnight tomorrow, Thursday. This time, a whopping 10-15cm (4-5 inches) of the white stuff is expected on grounds above 150 metres.

Met Office Chief Meteorologist, Frank Saunders, said: “Hail, sleet or snow showers are expected to affect parts of Scotland… before moving into part of southwest England, the Midlands and southern England during the early hours of Tuesday. Rain or hail is more likely towards some western coasts.”
