A Luke Littler lookalike has been the butt of his mates’ jokes over his striking resemblance to teen darts whizz.
Sarah Marshall, 31, shared a video of her other half, Christopher Roger, 33, watching the darts and you’d be forgiven for thinking he was the world number 2 himself. As Christopher tuned into the newly-crowned World Darts Championship finalist’s third-round tie last monthy, Sarah cheekily turned the camera on her partner, who sports a similar side profile.
Sarah jokingly asked: “How is Luke Littler on my TV and sat in my living room?” as Christopher, who doesn’t see the likeness, just shook his head.The video has since gone viral, racking up over three million views and more than 250,000 likes, with many agreeing they’re like two peas in a pod. Sarah, an operational support manager, said: “When Littler was in the final last year I thought he looked like him.
“No one had ever said he looks like Littler but my mum used to say he looked a little like Gerwyn Price. He pulls the same expressions as Luke as well.
“Christopher used to play rugby and his walk off the pitch is exactly the same as and when Luke’s walking back from his darts – the similarities are there. They’ve got a similar hairstyle too. When he shakes his head, it’s so similar. His family can’t believe how much it’s gone viral – he doesn’t see the similarity at all.”
History was made last Friday when 17-year-old Littler became the youngest World Darts Champion ever, toppling Michael Van Gerwen in a thrilling final. In a humorous turn of events, Chris found himself the butt of jokes at work after Littler’s victory.
The local mechanic said: “People at work have been making comments like ‘well done Luke’ and ‘what you spending your winnings on?’. I don’t see the resemblance from the front, but from the angle I was sitting and because of my hair, I suppose I do look a bit like him.”
Chris confessed that his dart-throwing abilities are nowhere near as good as his lookalike’s, admitting: “But only in the looks, I’m dreadful at darts – I hit the wall more than the dartboard!” He dismissed any thoughts of switching careers with a chuckle: “So no plans for a career change.”
His partner also noticed the similarity while they were watching the championship. “We were watching it every night so she’s been seeing the resemblance more and more,” he said. “She [my partner] mentioned before the video that she saw the resemblance.”
Social media users quickly got in on the joke too. One person humorously suggested Littler had “recorded it so he could watch it at home”. Another quipped, “He’s Luke Littler off Wowcher.”
A third added to the comedy by suggesting: “I think if you got him a Luke Littler shirt and some darts he can make some serious £££ as a lookalike.”
