GILES COUNTY, Va. – The Giles County Sheriff’s Office said a Ripplemead man was arrested and charged on January 6.

The Sheriff’s Office said that at around 7 a.m. on January 6, they got a call about a suspicious man sleeping in a running vehicle in the Little General parking lot in Pembroke. When deputies arrived, the suspect was identified as 37-year-old Christopher Wayne Wirt.

During the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office said deputies found drug paraphernalia and narcotics, and Wirt was arrested and charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute a schedule I/II narcotic.

Wirt is being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail without bond.
