(TMX) – Pamela Anderson said she was once mistaken for a member of the country group The Chicks and was nearly killed by an irate man.
The “Last Showgirl” star, 57, shared the story of a baffling case of mistaken identity during an appearance on Monday’s episode of the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast with Josh Horowitz.
“Remember that whole Dixie Chick thing?” Anderson asked Horowitz, saying she “almost got killed on a plane.”
“This one time, I was on a flight and this guy came up to me and said, ‘Do you know what this country’s done for you?’” Anderson recalled. “And I was like, ‘Oh, my God. What have I done?’”
The “Baywatch” beauty said the snarling man eventually escalated to physical violence.
“This stewardess had to handcuff him to the chair because he was trying to attack [me],” she said. “And, ends up, he thought I was a Dixie Chick.”
The actress said that although the incident was “minor,” she was “scared to fly” after that.
The Chicks used to be called The Dixie Chicks before they changed their name in 2020.
In 2003, member Natalie Maines spoke out against President George W. Bush’s invasion of Iraq. As a result, the group was banned from numerous radio stations and boycotted by fans.
