Three wildfires are raging around Southern California, forcing evacuations and threatening homes in Los Angeles County.

The Eaton fire, affecting areas in and around Pasadena, has burned more than 10,000 acres as of Thursday morning. Fire officials report that more than 1,000 homes have been damaged to the fire.

In Sylmar, the Hurst fire has grown to more than 800 acres Thursday, forcing emergency evacuations in some neighborhoods.

The Palisades fire, which started in Pacific Palisades Tuesday, Jan. 7, burned into Malibu and has charred more than 17,000 acres as of Thursday morning. Officials report that one firefighter suffered a serious head injury, while many others have been treated for burns.

As of 10 a.m. Thursday, the three fires had burned more than 28,000 acres.
